Let the Cold Winds Blow!

by Meg on November 7, 2007

My goodness! it is November already time to think of winter. And what beats down those bone chilling winds. You got! it a steaming bowl of chili made with Watkins chili seasoning. You just add the meat, tomato juice, tomato soup, onion, green pepper and celery. That is exactly what I made for supper tonight.

Tomorrow, I will be making homemade chicken noodle soup. The man of the house does not like the meat of the chicken in his soup (men) so I make the broth from Watkins Chicken Soup and Gravy mix throw in some onion, celery and grated carrots I then add egg noodles. Serve a bowl of soup along with a sandwich. Enjoy

I use the soup and gravy mixes for so many dishes. I love to use the beef gravy mix for a baked minute steak. Take a couple of minute steaks bread them and brown them, place in a baking dish add some sliced onions over the top cover with beef gravy and cover dish with Reynolds wrap then bake for 30 minutes in a 350 degree oven. Great served with mashed potatoes and green beans.

Traditions: Do you or your family have a particular family tradition? I would love to her about them.

My family would celebrate New Years with a French meat pie, it would have a very flakey crust and a very rich filling made from pork. I have never made it, and I know my mom and grandma are disappointed. My grandma brought the recipe from French Quebec to Michigan.

For your Christmas cookies recipes if you need peppermint extract, hazelnut, Irish crème, maple and Carmel order your extracts early before they are gone.
